I just want to see DiCaprio nominated again. I've lost faith in recent years. I figure he's not going to win.

Same, really hoping he will be able to pull through and get nominated in the end when everyone least expected it, but I won't get my hopes up. I didn't care that he missed in previous years because there were more deserving performance than his, but he looks like he really delivered with WOWS. Even his biggest detractors have been praising his performance.

Ejiofor is frontrunner for BAFTA, with Idris Elba a distant second. But I doubt that Robert Redford is getting in there, no one in UK is gonna see the film, and I'm doubting Tom Hanks as well. A BAFTA nom. is certainly in play. The way I see it as of now:
1. Ejiofor 2. Elba 3. Dern 4. McConaughey 5. Leo. This is his slot to take.

Hanks will get a BAFTA nomination. Count on it. He's in a Greengrass film.

Question: how is it an Internet hack like Jeffrey Wells gets a screener in time but St. Louis critics, On-Line film critics and SAG members don't. What's up with Paramount? I'm thinking they are going to toss out WOW's chances and focus only on "Nebraska." Oh well, maybe Leo will be a two time Golden Satelite winner. Doesn't sound like they care if they've seen it.

Hanks will get a BAFTA nomination. Count on it. He's in a Greengrass film. Hanks hasn't had any critics award support so far and he is supporting in Saving Mr. Banks and the Brits are gonna throw a lot of support behind that. Emma Thompson is pretty much a sure winner for best actress at the BAFTAs and it is likely that their love for her will translate into them voting for Hanks for that flick instead. McConaughey isn't safe either.

Hanks was nominated by the Detroit critics today. He's gotten as much support as DiCaprio has. Plus, he's Tom Hanks, two time Oscar winner. DiCaprio is a 3 time Oscar loser and he's only been nominated by BAFTAS twice. I'd love to see DiCaprio nominated by BAFTAS. I'm a huge fan but I'm not getting my hopes up.

As expected WOWWS didn't get anything at SAG nominations today, because it screened to late, just like Django Unchained last year. Biggest surprise was Forrest Whitaker getting in over Robert Redford. Redford now looks like the weak link going forward for Best Actor.

I was surprised about Whitaker over Redford. Guess they loved "The Butler." I still think Redford will make it in at the Oscars. Not hopeful for DiCaprio but that's their loss as far as I'm concerned. Well, off to take my anti-depressant and vodka chaser!

What are the chances this will get snubbed by the Golden Globes, in particular Leo getting snubbed? I heard HFPA didn't like it. I've got to have one awards show to watch during this long New England winter.

Very unlikely. Even if some HFPA didn't like it, they still wanna hang out with Marty and Leo at the afterparty and they will only show up if they are nominated. They will send that invitation.

Exactly, even if they disliked the movie(sick of these rumors that now seem like EVERYONE disliked WOWS) they'll still want Leo and Marty there, who are both GG favorites.
