Does anyone know who Seann Sara Sella is? According to IMDb and Wikipedia, she's composing the music for The Irishman, but someone could easily have edited those pages. I'm not even sure she's a real person, let alone a composer. The same thing happened with Live by Night. Some websites still consider her the composer of that movie. So I'm guessing this is a hoax.

It's funny, if I remember correctly, on every new Scorsese feature, Robertson is supposedly working on the score, or writing new music/songs/pieces. And while I don't doubt he is a big part of getting the right music for each film, selecting songs, maybe even rearranging them etc., as far as I know, there wasn't any new Robbie Robertson music in Scorsese's movies in the last two decades or so. I went back until GONY and looked at the track listings (per IMDB), and apart from The Money Chant in WOWS, if that even counts as a new piece of music, there's nothing to be found.

What are we expecting for this one? Probably a lot of needle drops, which Scorsese really knows how to use like no one else in the business, or maybe a new score by Howard Shore or someone to accompany the pre-existing music, like he did for The Aviator for example. I hope for the latter.

Scorsese and De Niro didn’t divulge much about “The Irishman,” the drama about organized crime and Jimmy Hoffa that also stars Al Pacino and Joe Pesci, a frequent collaborator of theirs. But the movie came up at a few points in the discussion (though neither addressed the fact that Netflix is releasing it). For instance, while talking about scores that borrow themes from other movies, the director mentioned that “The Irishman’s” mix includes borrowed elements.
De Niro recalled telling the director he had to read “I Heard You Paint Houses,” the 2004 book on which it’s based. And Scorsese told De Niro onstage, “You really felt the heart of this character and this situation.”

The director acknowledged that the material represented a return to the milieu of mobster tales like “Goodfellas” and “Casino” that the two are well known for, “but I think and I hope from a different vantage point. The years have gone by and you see things in a special way.”

In Scorsese’s view, the film is dealing with “the essence of who the people are, not necessarily the trappings around them.”

The director didn't wade into those issues Sunday, but he spoke about how "Irishman" reverberates with themes that have long propelled him. "Casino," he said, relates to what he considers a current "cultural explosion."

"It's the old story: How much is enough?" said Scorsese. "It has to do with our foibles and our pride. It just so happens (to be told with) gangsters and killers and prostitutes and gamblers."

Scorsese said that "The Irishman" will, like "Casino" did with the score from Jean-Luc Godard's "Contempt," include music from another film. He also said his last feature, "Silence," his 2016 religion epic about Jesuit priests in feudal Japan, connects with "The Irishman."

"Terry Malick wrote me a letter when he saw the picture. He said: 'What does Christ want from us?'" said Scorsese. "In the old neighborhood, I saw some of the people doing terrible things. But they still had something in them. They cared for each other."

"This film comes out of that and our new feature comes out of that," he added. "It's right there."

Scorsese is also prepping the release of his documentary "Rolling Thunder Revue: A Bob Dylan Story," which will debut on Netflix on June 12. The film will play in a concurrent Oscar-qualifying release in a handful of theaters, as well as "road show" screenings the night before release in some 20 cities.

Music was a constant theme to Scorsese on Sunday — he said he often tells him how to move the camera — as was his enduring interest in gangster films. Alluding to "The Irishman" while discussing "Goodfellas," Scorsese said the genre can contain everything.

"We find that we keep going back to that world because I think we're trying to get to what's essential," said Scorsese. "The microcosm is a macrocosm."

With his new album, Sinematic, set for release on September 20th, Robertson finally takes the plunge into chronicling parts of his life. His first album in five years, Sinematic, while still drenched in the shadowy, electronic pulse of much of the music he’s made after the Band, is the result of several intertwining projects. Some of the tracks are connected to the score he wrote for Martin Scorsese’s upcoming film The Irishman, starring Robert De Niro as a real-life mob hitman, out later this year.

Assisting Robertson along the way were collaborators like Citizen Cope, Glen Hansard, DJ Howie B and Robertson’s old friend Van Morrison. The two hadn’t worked together since “Wonderful Remark,” on the soundtrack of Scorsese’s The King of Comedy in 1983. For the new project, Robertson was developing a song called “I Hear You Paint Houses,” also the name of the Charles Brandt book about real-life hitman Frank “The Irishman” Sheeran that became the source material for Scorsese’s new film. “I usually see Van when he comes to town and we catch up, and he said, ‘So, what are you working on?’” Robertson says. “He came by my studio and listened to the track and I said, ‘You want to do something on this?’”

Robertson says he explained the meaning of the title to Van Morrison. “‘I hear you paint houses’ is kind of gruesome in a way — it’s an expression for when you want to hire a killer,” Robertson says. “’Painting houses’ refers to the splattering of blood. I said, ‘Hey, you want to sing on a song about splattering blood and a guy who kills people?’ But he liked that.”

She’s an uncredited composer, ghost writer on many movie scores. She’s real.

Seann Sara Sella is a nobody but tries to tell people she is a composer because she plays piano.  She was previously married to David Naughton and thus, says she is in the business.  She has posted on her IMDb that she is the composer of several big movies releasing but in the end, she curiously ends up never being the contracted composer once the movie is released. She is a poser who posts junk to give her IMDb a boost but has never done anything and has to later remove it from her profile, which is a violation.  She is a real person who has done nothing in the movie industry.
