It's funny, if I remember correctly, on every new Scorsese feature, Robertson is supposedly working on the score, or writing new music/songs/pieces. And while I don't doubt he is a big part of getting the right music for each film, selecting songs, maybe even rearranging them etc., as far as I know, there wasn't any new Robbie Robertson music in Scorsese's movies in the last two decades or so. I went back until GONY and looked at the track listings (per IMDB), and apart from The Money Chant in WOWS, if that even counts as a new piece of music, there's nothing to be found. What are we expecting for this one? Probably a lot of needle drops, which Scorsese really knows how to use like no one else in the business, or maybe a new score by Howard Shore or someone to accompany the pre-existing music, like he did for The Aviator for example. I hope for the latter. Robertson did not write the WOW chant. Matthew McConaughey has created a form of that chant to get into his characters for years. Leo suggested that they use it in WOW after a few takes. Now, Robertson’s entourage or Robertson credits himself with original scoring of The Irishman, King of Comedy and The Color of Money. He’s hitched onto Scorsese and taking the big ride for more gains. If you know anything about this industry, his band mates , other musicians for his financial and fame gains. It’s smoke and mirrors. These musicians that go uncredited pay the price because of Robbie’s place in music history with The Band, Dylan. The Legendary Bob Dylan, Scorsese’s documentary about Dylan is on Netflix. The Irishman was made possible because of Netflix. That’s Show Biz. This movie appears to an entertaining 3:30 hour intense, humorous ride. It’s also been brought to light that it’s based on complete fiction. But who cares with that cast. digg.com/video/matthew-mcconaughey-explains-the-famous-humming-scene-from-wolf-of-wall-street

You’re proving my point, Robertson didn’t write an entire film score like a Howard Shore. He didn’t write the score for WOW or The Color of Money. I am certain everyone who's a Scorsese fan will get a kick out the movie with the ultimate cast. After a fight for a decade to get it made with the budget of a small country, it’s going to be a great ride.

I'm still waiting to hear what movie theme Scorsese borrowed. Perhaps it's this harmonica theme.

quote] I get it. You’re a Robertson fan. I’m certain whatever is used will be great. Many musicians, composers don’t appreciate Robertson claiming to write the film scores for WOW, The Chant which he did not write or The Color of Money or King Of Comedy. An original film score by composer, Howard Shore who composed for Scorsese’s Hugo and The Departed. There’s a difference between a soundtrack and an original score. Dude, I know you’ll enjoy the movie and the soundtrack.

I haven't actually been referencing your posts. I just post things here relevant to the soundtrack.
