Think you have that backwards. Most of the film was on the Alexa with some 35mm plate shots (source: Hawk anamorphics aren’t typically used on 35mm film cameras).

Well, whenever we saw a film camera on photos from the set, it was a film camera.
Imdb has the Hawk anamorphics, whatever they are, listed along with the digital camera info, so they could still be only for those few (?) scenes where Arri Alexa was used.


On the comment section of this article about Scorsese talking about Canon EOS C500, this was said:

I worked on Wolf of Wall St. and they’re lying. The rest of the movie is being shot on Alexa's.

I was just on the electric crew on the new Scorcese flick (Wolf of Wall Street) and they’re using the Alexa for low light and Panavision for day exteriors.
