So does this happen with every Martin Scorsese project? Some dude just puts their name in a prominent position on IMDB and they okay it? For the next version of this long running trend, it looks like THE KILLERS OF THE FLOWER MOON will have cinematography by.... Gilles. No previous experience. www.imdb.com/name/nm10869011/?ref_=ttfc_fc_cr4(All kidding aside, short of a scheduling conflict or Scorsese just wanting to try someone new,I figure the cinematographer will be Rodrigo Prieto again who has shot everything Scorsese has done since THE WOLF OF WALL STREET)

I'm in love with how Rodrigo Prieto works with Scorsese & think it will work wonders for the film. Sure I'd love to see the sharp strong colors painting with light aesthetic that Robert Richardson does but Prieto's style is more akin towards the down to Earth work Scorsese did with Michael Ballhaus. More in the real world and I've loved it.
Rereading the book and if DiCaprio is playing Ernest Burkhart & De Niro is confirmed as William Hale I wonder who is going to get the juicy role of the FBI Agent Tom White. I had just figured that was going to be DiCaprio but I'm loving the idea of Scorsese taking his two most famous actor collaborators and casting them as serial killers. I could easily see them going with Josh Brolin for the role - he'd be great and fits the part on the page - but I would love for the part to go to a real surprise. Like Ben Mendelsohn or Patrick Wilson.

It's not always the most reliable resource for casting, but unless there was an official announcement at some point that seems to be the best information available (I haven't read the book so I can't comment on casting).

^ Earlier intros thread there's an excerpt from Scorsese's interview with Sight & Sound magazine where he says DiCaprio will be playing the role of Ernest & they haven't decided on who will play Tom White yet. IMDB is a user generated website and a lot of what gets up there is unreliable. For example I think there was some dude who kept adding himself to the cast of SILENCE on IMDB as the third lead of the film for like a year. Also of note, Collider will be posting an interview with Rodrigo Prieto tomorrow that they had with him in mid-November where the cinematographer said filming on KILLERS OF THE FLOWER MOON is to start in March. if the film does start actually start filming that early I would say it's safe to figure FLOWER MOON will be Paramount's big awards release of late 2021. A quick Wikipedia search shows they don't have a film like that scheduled yet. I think Thanksgiving would be the perfect release date for the film for obvious reasons - Thanksgiving is a holiday America celebrates that sells a fake narrative about the European settlers & Native Americans making peace and KOTFM is about the ancestors of those settlers killing Native Americans for their own benefit - but would not be surprised if Scorsese did his usual think of working on the film to the very last minute and it became a Christmas 2021 release. collider.com/killers-of-the-flower-moon-movie-filming-dates-scorsese/
