I agree with the top part of your post
Especially about the music and the tired mob storyline.
I really prefer Cannavale when he's quiet.
From this season, I have to highlight the performances by Romano, Temple, Parisse, Dice and Casella. Perhaps I had low expectations for some of them and that's why I was so impressed.
