"We wouldnt be the first to point out the similarities between gangsters and bankers: They both have an affinity for suits, run number games, and are often expert at dovetailing illegal activity with legitimate business. Its just that the finance boys tend to focus more on the enterprise part of criminal enterprise. Martin Scorseses new film, The Wolf of Wall Street, tells the real-life story of a high and hard living stockbroker, Jordan Belfort (Leonardo DiCaprio), who made millions of dollars through securities fraud and eventually spent 22 months in jail for it. The director gives us a birds-eye view of early 90s Wall Street excess, replete with yachts, women, and massive cocaine habits. Of course, playing characters who constantly inhale powder as white as their collars isnt easy as it sounds. You snort vitamin powder, says Jonah Hill, who plays Belforts partner in crime. We would sometimes be snorting this powder all day, and even though its not bad for you, youre still ingesting it into your sinuses. So I probably sounded nasally like I had an actual cocaine problem during the whole shoot. But at least I had plenty of vitamins, so I felt amazing. Despite the period accoutrements-tortoiseshell glasses, over-the-shoulder yuppie sweaters, and garish ties-Scorseses tale of greed and financial malfeasance offers many parallels to the current economic climate, as well as to some of his stars more recent films. DiCaprio sees his performance as the capper to an unofficial trilogy that began with the monarchial slave owner in Django Unchained and continued with iconic American dreamer Jay Gatsby in The Great Gatsby. They take place in three different time periods, each separated by about 60 years from the next DiCaprio told EW last December. But theyre all deeply American stories about wealth and the ways in which these men try to hold on to and achieve that wealth

Thanks, archer.
Will previously mentioned that Jonah sounded raspy in the trailer.

thanks, kim Another one who has seen the film, as McConaughey is described as a scene-stealer.

Thanks kim for the pic. Someone in People (A celebrity gossip-tabloid publication) has already seen the film?!. Or is he/she just referring to McC scenes from the trailer?

I'm not sure if they've already seen the film, but I think they said that because many thought McConaughey stole the show in the trailer. Also here is a HQ version:

thanks, nas under the old(?) plan, WOWS was to come out in France on Christmas, so this would be early coverage for the film. Do you know if it's an article about the film or just DiCaprio?

Actually i don`t. I assume it`s Leo`s interview about the film and his career. Standard stuff. If TWOWS comes out on Christmas as planned the October issue coverage isn`t THAT early. But if Paramount plans to delay the release they better announce it soon or they will end up with a plethora of too early printing publications TWOWS coverage.
Right?

Right. I remember the same thing happened with Shutter Island... it had at least one cover that was synced with the first release date. Premiere said this issue comes out on Wednesday so we'll see then.

From what I gathered, it's mostly focused on Belfort.
The Scorsese/WOWS bits are:
Leo says that Scorsese always thought Goodfellas was a comedy, and that he laughed when he read that script and thought the characters were hilarious. That Wolf is also a New York story and, even though Marty never found himself in the world of finance, he was the ideal filmmaker for the film because of his dark sense of humor. Leo avoids saying why Warner Bros bailed on the project. That they needed a big budget for such a shoot, and that Scorsese wants to have a budget that allows him to make the film he has imagined. That every day on set Leo would think "what did we get ourselves into?", especially when they were filming the quaaludes scene. And that he would turn to Marty, who would smile with contentment. That there was an energy similar to when he was making Mean Streets, of constant improvisation and absolute freedom. It was a huge trip.
