Brendan Fraser (No Sudden Move) has joined the casts of Martin Scorsese’s Killers of the Flower Moon and Max Barbakow’s Brothers.



The former title from Apple TV + and Paramount Pictures is a crime drama, based on the bestselling book of the same name by David Grann. It’s set in 1920s Oklahoma and will examine the serial murder of members of the oil-wealthy Osage Nation—a string of brutal crimes that came to be known as the Reign of Terror.



Fraser will appear in Killers alongside Oscar winners Robert De Niro and Leonardo DiCaprio, Emmy nominated Jesse Plemons, and more. We hear that he will play lawyer WS Hamilton.

This reminds me so much of the McConaughey casting for WoWS, which happened 9 years ago, almost to the day. McConaughey was in the middle of a career resurgence and was planning an actor campaign for the following year. Fraser is in a similar situation, with the Whale coming next year. He might be trying to tick the same boxes.

I scanned the book and found no mention of a lawyer named Hamilton. I wonder if he's one of the guardians or one of the agents.

Hamilton is mentioned in the book the 'Deaths of Sybil Bolton” by Washington Post editor and Osage, Dennis McAuliffe, Jr.

Here’s an excerpt mentioning Hamilton from the book: “The other lawyers in the firm—especially Hale’s personal attorney, W. S. Hamilton—would become notorious in the same places for representing Hale and others through four trials lasting to 1929. They even took Hale’s challenge to federal jurisdiction to the U.S. Supreme Court, and lost. For a while, the FBI considered slapping Hamilton with charges of harassing witnesses and conspiring to commit perjury and obstruct justice. Witnesses had said Hamilton had threatened them with his pistol.”

John Lithgow added to the cast as Prosecutor Leaward.
Shooting must be into the court room scenes which are probably pretty sizable and I wonder if we'll get any other new surprise cast members!
