I happened upon Leonardo DiCaprio at the event, who lost out to his co-star in the supporting actor category. He says Martin Scorsese's "The Wolf of Wall Street," which he's been filming in New York, will be his best work. It's never too late to start building that buzz, I guess. Quentin Tarantino, meanwhile, was high on life and a pleasure to finally meet face-to-face.

Lets hope DiCaprio is right and he really has let himself go. I hope he didn't try to impersonate Jordan Belfort, but just tried to be himself. Impersonation didn't work very well for him in J. Edgar. And it doesn't matter anyway if he sounds like Jordan Belfort, because most people doesn't know who Belfort is anyway, unlike J. Edgar Hoover.

I think he means Scorsese's best work... that's how I read it. And yes, he should have said "never too early".

Before Leonardo DiCaprio took off for the Golden Globes in LA, he filmed his last scenes for the Martin Scorsese drama “The Wolf of Wall Street” at legendary uptown restaurant Rao’s. The duo filmed with investigator and Fox News contributor Bo Dietl, who knew former stock trader Jordan Belfort, on whom the movie is based. A source tells us, “Dietl has a regular table at Rao’s, so they let Marty film there. In the scene, Belfort asks Dietl for advice on how to deal with FBI agents who were investigating him, but doesn’t get the answers he wanted.” We’re told the crew had to wait for Rao’s regulars to leave before filming, so it didn’t start until around 2 a.m. Friday morning and ended at 6 a.m. “Filming had to be put off for a few days because Leo had been sick,” a source told us. “But when they finished the last take, he told Marty, ‘This is one of the best experiences I have ever had filming a movie.’ ” Scorsese then hosted an ’80s-themed wrap party Saturday night at the newly renovated Marquee nightclub in Chelsea, which reopens to the public tomorrow.

After a yearlong, multi-million-dollar renovation, the red velvet ropes will once again hold back the lines outside famed New York City nightclub Marquee.

The West Chelsea hotspot is scheduled to open to the public Friday with a performance by techno DJ Dubfire.

The revamped space will be better-equipped for A-list DJs and musical acts, with fewer tables and a bigger dance floor. And designer Josh Held gave it an industrial-style makeover, covering the walls in recycled leather belts and using welded rebar for the handrails.

Marquee officially opens this weekend, but guests at the wrap party for Martin Scorsese's "The Wolf of Wall Street" got a sneak peek when they partied there Saturday.

I'm sure it probably is not what DiCaprio was referring to ..but when I read his comment :

"This is one of the best experiences I have ever had filming a movie"

I thought to myself "Considering all the scenes that involved his character Jordan interacting with nude /scantily clad attractive women, I'm sure it was certainly from a male perspective =a great way to spend one's work day and get very well compensated for it

Seems that second unit work is still busy. The Steve Madden intro looks to be one of the scenes.

''Quentin Tarantino will receive the Santa Barbara Film Festival‘s American Riviera Award on January 30th at the Arlington Theatre. Leonardo DiCaprio was to have received the award at the previously announced event on February 1 but could not attend because of scheduling conflicts.''

I wonder if Leo will be back for additional shooting.
