@joeymagidson 2 minutes ago #TheIrishman is terrific, with a ton of gallows humor and surprising emotional heft at the end. @theirishmanfilm
@klee_FilmReview 4 minutes ago This is the best I’ve ever seen Pacino. I’m serious. He’s coming for that Oscar nomination, I can smell it. #TheIrishman @netflix
@joshencinias 5 minutes ago There’s a scene in Vegas in #TheIrishman that warmed my heart. I stopped cold when I figured out the bit.
@seankels0 6 minutes ago #TheIrishman is TERRIFIC! The Holy Trinity of Mobsters—De Niro, Pacino, and Pesci all carry this 3.5 hr movie with ease and Oscar-worthy performances. De-aging works! Scorsese still has the energy of the 70's, and this film offers mafia action with reflective substance.
@joeymagidson 6 minutes ago #TheIrishman is a modern American crime epic and one of #MartinScorsese’s most sprawling works. Seeing Robert De Niro and Al Pacino back at the tops of their games, together no less, is a gift, while Joe Pesci is just tremendous as well. The running time flew by. @thenyff #NYFF
@edouglasww 6 minutes ago Scorsese has still got it... #TheIrishman was a text book master class in filmmaking... more to come. Reviews at 8pm Eastern! #nyff19 unt @rlevin85 6 minutes ago It’s a masterpiece. Period. #TheIrishman @thenyff @annalikestweets 7 minutes ago Alright, more coherent thoughts on #TheIrishman to come in my review tonight but I’ll say this for now because I know people are curious about it: The de-aging worked for me! Jarring at first, but you got used to it, and De Niro was good enough that it didn’t matter. @jdonbirnam 8 minutes ago #TheIrishman is Scorsese’s version of “On the Waterfront” meets “The Godfather,” almost a swan song with an added layer of nostalgia for his own past work. The editing is particularly excellent and all three actors are strong #NYFF57 #NYFF
@bgoldman22 8 minutes ago #TheIrishman is utterly exceptional - vintage Scorsese. It takes so much from his best films and then becomes its own. Three brilliant performances and the deaging was no problem at all. #NYFF @filminquiry @netflix ad @katerbland 8 minutes ago #THEIRISHMAN power rankings: 1. Pacino, 2. Pacino yelling, 3. Pesci, 4. Peggy Sheeran, 5. Ice cream, steaks, Canada Dry.
@joshencinias 9 minutes ago Al Pacino owns #TheIrishman but Robert De Niro owns the last thirty minutes. #NYFF
@tvandfilmguy 9 minutes ago I gotta watch it again (maybe not today thought), but I really enjoyed #TheIrishman. Pesci is wonderful. #NYFF
@klee_FilmReview 9 minutes ago Boy. #TheIrishman is a fitting homecoming for De Niro, Pacino, Pesci, and Scorsese’s ode to gangster cinema. Hilarious and sharply written. A portrait of mortality and legacy, told like a culmination of everything we have ever seen in this genre. It’s LONG but never boring. #NYFF @jusaire 10 minutes ago What...a...movie #TheIrishman

Any reaction saying that the film should be cut shorter should be instantly ignored. The most asinine criticism there is. Yes, Scorsese and Schoonmaker just put random scenes in there that serve no artistic purpose at all. 😒😒
