And last Sunday I saw an episode of 1970's TV show "Rockford Files" and a character was snorting come -- white powder and razor blade shown. So what's the deal? Yeah, just what exactly IS the deal with snorting come?

A bit of a stomach punch (at least for me) tonight with American Hustle winning SAG ensemble. I stayed up to watch them until the end because Lupita Nyong'o won over Lawrence early in the show, which fooled me into believing that 12 Years A Slave was gonna win. Can we take a little joy in McConaughey winning, even if it wasn't for WOWWS?

So Sikelia gets both Marty himself and Emma Tillinger Koskoff? I had expected that Red Granite would get two, so that Riza Aziz could have gotten the nod. He wrote the check. Leo's nod is well deserved. He developed the project at Appian Way and found Riza Aziz and his checkbook.

Couple of questions:
1. I know easy branch votes for Oscar nominations, i.e., actors voting for actors, but do the branches only vote for the winners in their branch or do all Academy members vote for all winners?
2. Why is 12 Years a slave considered an "independent" film but "Wolf of Wall Street" isn't? It seems "independent film" is used a lot less loosely than it was years ago (and get a lot of Oscar nominations than they used to).
Thanks!

1. The latter. 2. Who doesn't consider TWOWS an indie?

The indie-thing is a question of money. As I recall an indie must have a budget under $40 m. + the money can't come from one of the big studios.

I thought an indie just had to be independently financed from outside the big studios.

My definition is the one the Indie Spirit Awards uses.

Based on rule #2, a $100M production could still feasibly be eligible.
