peanut80Because the team behind the film hasn't told the Academy which producers they want to nominate. In a few days, you'll see the name of the nominated producers. I hope that Scorsese will get in there, and Leo wouldn't be too bad either.

Regarding that, according to the Oscar website www.oscars.org/awards/academyawards/rules/rule16.html (and previous years), only 3 producers can get nominated. However, looking at the nominees, 5 producers from 12 Years a Slave was nominated, but I guess they somehow count as an exception. I'm not exactly sure how though. Maybe Paramount will be able to nominate all 5 producers (including Leo and Scorsese) for TWOWS.

And as I said, 12 Years a Slave had 5 nominated producers, so maybe they'll all get in. Will be interesting.

DiCaprio's reaction to his Oscar nod for BA As to producers named I agree with Will, it should be one from each production company : One from Appian Way (DiCaprio ) , one from Koskoff or Marty (Sikelia) and one Red Granite Guy

Now that I am back home and have had time to look at the full list there are some big surprises. Saving Mr. Banks was totally shut out with both emma thompson and tom Hanks missing and tom Hanks wasn't nominated for Captain Phillips either, which is very surprising. He probably cancelled himself out with voters splitting and not agreeing whether to nominate him for lead in Phillips or supporting for Banks. Paul Greengrass missed the directing nom too, so they didn't go for Phillips to the extent it was expected.

Red Granite guy will be Riza Aziz. he is bringing the money after all, even though McPharland was more involved.

thanks, arnzilla. That last mini-pause Hemsworth took before saying Wolf at the end was too much. I thought the film hadn't made it. And why is the title in green color?

WillWhy it only fitting that the title be in green or as Jordan would say "It's all about the green (money) , and it always will be !"

I still don't know why this film is considered so controversial. Maybe it's me. But this morning I turned on the TV and the show "Being Human" began with a sex scene that was nearly as graphic as one in WOW. And last Sunday I saw an episode of 1970's TV show "Rockford Files" and a character was snorting come -- white powder and razor blade shown. So what's the deal? Has the Christian Right taken over critics groups? As for the morality of Belfort -- are all characters supposed to be moral?
Oh, well. It got the Oscar nominations and I'm glad about that.
When the Oscar nominations were announced my husband said, "Jonah Hill's teeth!"
