About the Satellite nominations... why do you think the studio went out of their way to deny the IPA had seen the film? I've been wondering that myself. They were the source in outing the "academy." Maybe Brad Grey has a beef with Mirjana Van Blaricom.

And... Tom O'Neil, with some crazy talk about residency factoring in awards play, but also some reactions from other "pundits":

I'm guessing so since 12 Years As A Slave was ranked first and they gave that wins for Director and Lead Actor as well?

I thought so too... it's just weird that it's third on their list but it didn't get any other awards.

The Boston Society of Film Critics are currently voting and member Ty Burr is live Tweeting the results. Rush just won Best Editing and he tweeted this... Peter Keough, the Film Editor at The Boston Phoenix, said that TWOWS was one of the runner-ups "For Best Use of Music." He added later about "Best Screenplay"...

ArnzThanks for Boston Critic results Love how the Indie Wire writer claims in Boston Critic column that if more had a chance to see film wouldn't have made a difference , yet, a person there /hearing comments of others felt it might have

Glad WOWS did well at Boston. Shame not all the voters got to see it on time though but being runner up despite not being seen by everyone is still pretty damn good. Also WOWS was a complete non factor in NYFCC and now today's LAFCA, what gives?

kim. I don't get it either. The Twitter reactions seem positive, particularly for Leo. The other day was mention of WOW getting great response from critics. I was really expecting Leo to get a mention in LA. Are critics just too smug to notice him? And what's up with the positive comments on the film as a whole -- yet LA and NY give nothing?

^^Exactly, that is why I'm so confused. To be frank I really thought Leo would get some notices from them, I mean being the Boston runner up is great but it seems New York and LA completely shunned not just Leo but WOWS completely. Is it just not a critics movie? I'm leaning towards that, because while it's proven to be divisive, it also has extremely passionate fans and same with Leo's performance. The people who liked it, REALLY like it. I have no idea how this will do Oscar wise.
